I’m sure this post has been done before, but I’d love to be recommended some more fantasy books or series that aren’t just popular on “BookTok” for being complete fanservice or straight up porn.
I do not mind spice at all, in fact I very frequently read eroticas lol. But when I want to read fantasy/high fantasy/romantasy, I am really expecting it to be well written and not just rely on “spice levels”. Or it’s just a self-insert of the author being insufferable (to me an example is Fourth Wing).
Some of my favorite fantasy series are The Heir Chronicles, Seven Realms Series, ACOTAR, and Throne of Glass. As a child I really loved Fablehaven, Witch & Wizard, and Leven Thumps.
I apologize if my post comes off as judgmental, I just have hated all of the recommendations from TikTok because the writing is SO bad.
