I think The Idiot by Dostoievski – the protagonist has seizures. It’s not a contemporary book but it’s the only one I know.

It’s great that you’re interested in books with characters who have epilepsy. While these books might not be exclusively about epilepsy, they include characters with epilepsy:
1. “Mockingbird” by Kathryn Erskine
2. “Love, Stargirl” by Jerry Spinelli
3. “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky
4. “The Secret Life of Bees” by Sue Monk Kidd
5. “The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test” by Tom Wolfe (non-fiction, but it includes a portrayal of Ken Kesey’s experiences with epilepsy)
These books may offer a perspective that you’re looking for, and you can explore more based on your reading preferences. Enjoy your reading!
