When I read Jane Eyre, I learnt new words, new expressions of dialogue and learnt about the culture of Victorian England. Other than that, I felt something inside me. I was almost able to picture myself as Jane (because of shared similarities) and that feeling was beautiful beyond words.
I felt I was "seen" or "understood" by someone. I loved the choices Jane made throughout the novel.
I've been searching for that "feeling" since long now. I tried reading Julia Quinn, but it was nowhere near as same (I didn't feel like I was learning anything new, and the writing was bland).
What do I do now?
