Books on the Bible, its context, history, or translation?

Hi friends!
I’m gonna start out by saying I am an English literature student and have a deep fascination with creation myths and world religions. I’ve studied Greek and Egyptian mythology but the Bible has always fascinated me, but every time I try to read it I just… can’t. I want to read it more for a deeper meaning and to really examine it, as well as learn and be able to connect it to things in our world today, if that makes sense? So does anyone have any non-bias books, either a companion translation? Or anything you can think of to help me understand it better from a literary perspective?
Again, this is not for personal religion. I am simply a student with too much time and weird interests.
