My son is 6, loves the horror genre in about everything, and I’m having a heck of a time finding scary stories for him. I don’t baby him in this regard, anything that’s appropriate for a short attention span is fine with him. Does not need to be child appropriate, the blood and gore is fine with him. Just has to be reasonably short and no sex scenes.
All the books I’ve read to him he’s complained that they’re not scary enough. I’m kind of out of ideas here.
Any suggestions?

Goosebumps. There’s dozens in the original series so plenty of stories to choose from.
