I've been reading stand alones recently. I've found some great stuff but I"m missing the depth and world-building that comes from longer series.

I read a lot of fairy tales, both retellings and things with that vibe

I'm ok with any age group, I tend to gravitate towards YA because it's more likely to be lighter. I like some humor, sweet friendships/romances, and a happily ever after. It's ok if people die or go through rough stuff of course, I just can't finish books when it isn't balanced with anything light.

Authors I've read a lot of: Shannon Hale, Melanie Cellier, Kenley Davidson, Brandon Mull (when I was younger)

Books I love not by those authors: The Bear and the Nightingale Series, Stardust, The Princess Bride, Once Upon a Marigold, Howl's Moving Castle.

In unrelated genera: Yes Man by Danny Wallace, Fried Green Tomatoes, Lost and Found by Katheryn Shulz
