I know it's not a big deal, but I accidentally folded the cover and first few pages of a book I love and I'm so sad. It was an accident and it was all my fault, and now there's an ugly ridge down the cover and the first few pages won't lie flat.
I was really attached to this book because it's by the first author that got me back into reading, so having a physical copy where I'm running my hands over the smooth cover, smelling the book, turning the pages meant so much to me. I went to such great lengths to preserve the book — no folding pages, held it so the spine wouldn't curve. And now because of one mistake, it's ruined.
It's silly and trivial, but I'm so sad 🙁
