I am a teacher on summer break and excited to participate in my local library’s Adult Summer Reading Challenge. I am looking for suggestions for some of the categories (it’s set up as a bingo board).
Black or indigenous author, LGBTQIA+ author, Sports-themed novel, Book about a current event, Book that focuses on a relationship, Read a novella in one day, Book set in Asia by an Asian author, Book that makes your heart race, Graphic novel or graphic nonfiction
I love Louise Erdrich but have not read her recently so I may do that for indigenous author, but for the rest I am pretty stumped. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

For novella, and perfect for summer, I recommend Claire Keegan’s Foster.
Sports-Themed Novel: Stephen Florida by Gabe Habash — very very weird novel about a college wrestler.
Graphic Non-Fiction: I assume this means a graphic novel? “The Best We Could Do” by Thi Bui is a fantastic memoir.
