So I got suggested Emily Henry the last time I asked for romance recs, specifically “Book Lovers”. I liked it A LOT, though I was iffy about it for the first 30-40% of it, and I found that I don’t like spice much in romance books. My other romance read (which made me want to get into the genre) was Jane Austen’s Persuasion, which I adored. I’m looking for something more like Persuasion (with the longing and the passion and the intense but non-sexual “almost” moments) but also something that follows characters who are flawed and complex and not necessarily stereotypical romance leads. I’m also interested in recs with queer couples/leads!
