I am looking for novels with a strong sense of place, preferably set in Scotland, though England, Ireland or Wales would be great as well. It can be historical fiction, modern day, or speculative fiction. I have not read Outlander and don't plan to, it was a little too graphic for me (I watched some of the show). I have read several of Kate Morton's novels that take place in the UK, and really enjoyed them.
Other than that, I haven't really read many novels like what I'm describing, it's just a vibe I want to explore. So please feel free to suggest pretty much anything!
