Suggest me a book on what it might have been like for my maternal ancestor who emigrated from Germany sometime between 1850-1900

I know that she died in what is now Washington State in 1935 at the age of 81 but I’m not sure what age she emigrated or where she originally emigrated to in America.

I prefer historical fiction versus non fiction! Thanks!
