Time War is a very unusual work. That’s why you see it recommended here so often. I can’t think of anything I’ve read that is quite like it. I thought it was gorgeous and thought provoking, and I want to go back and read it again soon. That said, what were some of your favorite things about the book? Was it the time travel system? The epistolary aspect? The love story and poetic language?
I am going to recommend Our Wives Under the Sea- another short novel about a lesbian relationship told in alternating voices. It is firstly a love story (though not a happy one), and also a horror story about the deep sea. It’s not LIKE Time War, but has some of the poetry that makes Time War cool.
I’ll also recommend The Starless Sea, another work of literary genre fiction with a love story at its center.
