Hi! I’m 22(f) and just recently got back into reading, for the first time since school. The problem I’m finding is nothing seems to interest me except for thrillers/psychological thrillers. I also think something with mystery of some sort I would like, think of Knives Out the movie. I’m looking for a different type of genre I can venture into so that I have more variety, because I feel like I’m reading a ton of similar plots.
-I’m not interested in books that are about romance/have that being the main plot. I’m really uninterested in romance plots and intense spicy scenes. Though if a book has a romance subplot, that is totally fine.
-I don’t love sci-fi or fantasy, though at times I do enjoy the type of sci-fi that’s believable. Like a medical procedure that doesn’t exist in reality but is impacting humanity, hopefully that makes sense.
I’m open to any suggestions! Thank you!

Have you considered books based on real life? A great many coming-of-age stories also straddle the psychological thriller line and may give you exactly what you are looking for. Two books I recently worked on do exactly that, so I know they exist.
