I just finished Edith Wharton’s The House of Mirth, and felt there was almost a parallel book to be written about the charwoman or cleaning lady that the protagonist encounters a couple of times (no spoilers).
Any books about working class women you’d suggest? (For example, I read the non fiction The Unwomanly Face of War by Svetlana Alexievich, and plan to give a try to The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle by Jennifer Ryan once available in my library).
