Ok so I’ve never really been into classics, but it’s been something I want to change. I think I’ve just never given them the proper chance. This summer I finally got a kindle so I could read more while traveling, and I’ll be in Italy for about a month with lots of down time. I’d love to try to fit in some classics.
The criteria I’m looking for essentially is something that is not very difficult to get into since I feel like I need to baby step my way into reading more classic books, and also anything that has peak summer/Italy vibes (cause I really tend to associate classics with fall and winter).
Oddly specific but hoping you all can help!!!

My sister and I follow the book list in The Well-Educated Mind. It’s been great. You can either buy the book or Google the list of classics.
The Innocents Abroad – Mark Twain (its about traveling through Europe so might be good for your situation)
Also good summer books by Twain:
Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn of course
Roughing it
Life on the Mississippi
Others:
Frankenstein – Shelley
On the Road – Kerouac
The Grapes of Wrath – Steinbeck
The Sun also Rises – Hemingway
A Room with a View by E M Forster. It takes place in Italy
