I finished the Red Rising Trilogy a few weeks back.. I’ve been in a horrible reading slump since then. I’ve finished books but I didn’t enjoy them and I felt like I was chasing a high. I haven’t started the next three red rising books because of the difference in writing/POV so I’m putting it off a bit to mentally prepare myself.

Here are books I finished despite being in a slump
    – Silent Companion (did not enjoy)
    – Dark Matter (did not enjoy)
    – A court of Silver Flames (I did enjoy)

The following books are what I’ve attempted to read so far but abandoned it shortly after (about 20-30% mark)
    – The Nightingale Kristen Hannah (Couldn’t enjoy)
    – The women Kristen Hannah (I’m a woman in military and don’t like reading about work related things)
    – This thing between us Gus Moreno (didn’t like the setting)
    – everything I know about love dolly alderton (found it hard to care)
    – Assassins Blade SJM ( ACOTAR series was ok except for ACOSF)
    – The Book Thief (getting tired of WW2 stuff)
    – house of darkness house of light andrea Perron (I got 50% done before I abandoned it due to the insane amount of grammatical errors and lots of repetition of the same story)

Currently reading: seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Just started it. Haven’t formed an opinion yet. If I abandon this, I’ll try The Terror by Dan Simmons

If you have any suggestions, I have no specific genre I prefer when it comes to fiction. As long as it is captivating and entertaining. I have KU if that helps !

It would be more helpful if you listed books you did enjoy, rather than ones you didn’t

    2. Why don’t you try a standalone from a very different genre? Try Tress of the Emerald Sea or Warbreaker by Sanderson or Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clark or some Gaiman.
