I’m not sure how I feel about this book overall. I like the concept and premise of it, but the pacing feels…off. Like some things happen at a slower pace, then all of a sudden the last 20 ish pages rush the ending, or at least that’s how I felt.
And when they’re done well, books that have 2 different timelines & characters are really good. With this, I was more invested in what Nell and Eliza were doing, the present day plot and character (Caroline I think) ranged from just okay to borderline insufferable.
I really wanted to like it, but I feel like there was something missing, if that makes sense. What are y’all’s thoughts and opinions about this book?
