Suggest me books with well written atmosphere. Happy or dark, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s mood inducing.

I wanted to get into write some fanfiction, but first I wanted to do some research reading.

What I’m searching for right now are some good examples of well written atmosphere.

There are a lot of books out there with some “white wall” syndrome where you know the characters pretty well, but the vibe isn’t very influenced by the setting.

I can probably explain more if people don’t know what I’m talking about, but I really just want to feel where they are.
