Take Scooby-Doo and the alien invaders: it takes place in New Mexico and has:
-aliens
-desert
-conspitacy theorists
-govetment agents
-hippies
It's like they tried to check every single stereotype in the best way. Some with The witches ghost and Zombie island and almost every Scooby-Doo movie that doesn't take place in a citty.
I really have no ideea what the thing I'm looking for is called, but the best way I can describe it is: a horrir or adventure book with an exotic, immersive setting. I haven't read anything that matches the vibes i get from those movies
