I love prose that presents details of urban and natural environments and of the human face in high-resolution detail.
Specifically I love the prose of Alain Robbe-Grillet, Natalie Sarraute, Michel Butor, Claude Ollier, Emmanuel Bove, Claude Simon, Tom McCarthy.
Bove is a recent discovery — are there other authors who present physical and human detail with as much neat clarity and lucid precision as this?
Preferable 20th and 21st century authors.
I've read Mauvignier and Echenoz and Jean Philippe-Toussaint already (they're often cited as being influenced by the above writers) so looking for some new recommendations; writers from any nation.
