Alright, so I’m going to add my voice to the crowd of folks who really wanted to like Blood Meridian and just couldn’t do it. I forced myself to go a little over halfway through and I was simply not enjoying my reading sessions with this book. It has beautiful (yet dark) prose, which I appreciate. And I recognize that there’s a lot of symbolism that’s meaningful and deep. But for me it was just tooooo much of that. Maybe I will try re-reading at a later time but I have too many other books that I’m excited about to waste my time with something I wasn’t getting any satisfaction from.
I thought The Road was alright…I have No Country for Old Men in my stack. Anyone read them all? How do they differ?

Same happened to me. FWIW, I couldn’t get past the first 120 pages. It was way too slow and the violence was senseless and didn’t seem to add anything to the plot.
