I absolutely loved “The Shining”. I hadn’t seen the movie yet and decided to read the book first before watching. This was one of the few stories of his where I had no idea what the storyline was or the outcome. The same with his book “Salem’s Lot”, but that one wasn’t bad & something about vampires makes things not as scary for me.

I’m currently reading “Red Dragon” by Thomas Harris and it’s good, however I don’t care much for soley human inflicted horror. I like that The Shining, although humans were involved in the acts, still involved the evil spirit realm.

    I’d love some recommendations!

    1. I would recommend a lot of 1980s and 1990s Stephen King.

For other and more recent stuff…

      The Kind Worth Killing.
      Five Survive.
      Allegedly.

And plenty of nonfiction memoirs, like Educated and Dear Leader.
