I loved authors like Jules verne as a child. I am looking for more adult fiction books (not YA) that have a sense of travel and adventure. Thrillers are ok but not if it involves spies or murder detectives (a trope that has been done to death haha see what I did there). Sci-fi/ horror is also fine.
By adventure I mean it involves mountain climbing or going to Antarctica, sailing across oceans, travelling across deserts -that sort of thing. To give you an idea of what I mean:
Abominable by Dan Simmons
Most books by Hammond Innes (an oldie but a goodie)
Ice trilogy by Kevin Tinto
