Romance is ok in the book, I just don't want it to be the main theme.
I love to take a book on a trip set in the place I am going to. I have a week long trip in the Outer Banks coming up the end of this month. I enjoy Mysteries, Thrillers, Detective, or Family Drama style books. Bonus points if the story revolves around vacationers going missing or being murdered.
I have read 'Where the Crawdad's Sing' and also 'Smile Beach Murder' and 'Murder on Mustang Beach' by Alicia Bessette, the latter two being a series of Cozy murder mysteries set in the Outer Banks.
I also read 'The Summer House' by Hannah McKinnon recently, which is a family drama set in a New England beach town.
It doesn't have to be set in The Outer Banks, but I would prefer something in an east coast USA beach town.
