I know that it’s rare, but it does happen. Usually the book is always 100 times better than the movie because of it having expanded alliteration, filled in details, character development, etc. But in the case of, The 3 Body Problem, the book was absolutely boring compared to the streaming series. While the series did a fine job of presenting the science fiction, and the astronomy and physics in a very digestible manner, the book went on and on, and on for pages and pages, and seemed to require lead to a master level of Astro physics degree just to get through it. I am so disappointed. I went and checked out the book from the library because I specifically loved the streaming series so much.m. I have the second novel in the series on hold and I’ll try to slog through it but I don’t have any high expectations of liking it at all

Shawshank Redemption. Perhaps that’s because I saw the movie first, but I do prefer the film. They are very different though. And the book is still fantastic.

    2. 3 Body Problem is loved by its readers, and I am one of them.

For me, probably Hunger Games. Love Suzanne Collins, but the movies outshined the books imo

    3. Jaws isn’t necessarily a bad novel, but it cannot match the level of mastery that Jaws the movie achieved.

majorly disagree on three body problem – i adore that trilogy – but that’s of course a fair opinion. my go-to example here is no country for old men, and i say that as a huge cormac mccarthy fan. funny enough, that novel was originally written as a screenplay, so in a way, the fact that the movie is so incredible really just shows that cormac understood what he was doing. still, the movie is better than the novel by a long shot

    5. The Witcher. I haven’t played the game but i have heard the game is the better of all three. Which is also kinda interesting. I have also heard the translation of the books may be part of the issue. But idk.

I am betting, in a generation or two, that GoT tv show will be considered better than the books, obviously depending on if he finishes it as well.

And imo, which is heavily disagreed with by like everyone in my family, Harry Potter was a better movie than books. But i really didn’t like either all that much to care either way.

Forrest Gump would be a prime example of this. The book is… weird. But not good weird. Just weird.

This might be unpopular but The Notebook . I prefer the movie ending over the book ending

Coraline the book was still pretty good but the story just came across so much better in movie form.
