TL;DR: I need book recommendations for my 11 yo son.

So basically my son LOVES to read. He has read just about every fantasy book in his elementary school library. He's going into middle school now, and I'd like to upgrade his reading content. Unfortunately a lot of YA novels seem to be violent or have too much spice for my liking (swearing/inappropriate situations). He is a sensitive kid. TIA

    Things he likes:
    Wings of Fire,
    Dragons,
    Maps,
    Fantasy,
    Time travel,
    History,
    Aliens (not the scary kind),
    Space travel,
    Harry Potter.

    Things we don''t want:
Too much romance (some is okay as long as it is age appropriate),
    A lot of death,
    Anything too violent or gruesome,
    A lot of swearing,
    Anything overtly sexist.

He might like Tamora Pierce’s books! Her newest, Tempests and Slaughter, has a teenage boy protagonist. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini may also work depending on your threshold for violence, but I was younger than 11 when I started Eragon and don’t recall being traumatized.
