Favorite book tropes or whatever little tidbit that tends to lure you into reading. When browsing, which settings or tropes make you take an interest. Here are some of mine:
Time travel/ Time loops
Secluded mystery/thriller. Such as people stuck on a Island, Snowed in, lost in the woods.
Anything with the cliche detective. I have a soft spot for worn out detectives that are either widowed or divorced and live in a crappy apartment.
Settings with airplanes, a crash or a hostage situation, or whatever, just needs an airplane in the story
Anything set in Soviet Russia.

I never get tired of dystopian novels
Historical drama with some plight involving immigrant/orphaned/war affected children. Thus the reason Rachel Wesson is one of my favorite authors.
highly competent protagonist navigates a series of challenges, where you get to see the ingenuity of their problem solving.
British boys falling in love. That particular subset of queer romcom is always a joy for me. (Red White and Royal Blue, Boyfriend Material, We Could Be Heroes, The Paper Boys)
Anything to do with old libraries and/or big dusty leather volumes. (The Cloisters, Ink Blood Sister Scribe, Pandora)
Ancient Greek retellings. (The Song of Achilles, a Thousand Ships, Stone Blind, Circe)
Anything with split perspective/multiple main characters. (Any Kate Quinn book)
Cozy books set in the Maritimes. (Anne of Green Gables, Recipe for a Good Life)
