So a few years back I read this book and I’ve been trying to find it for a while so I can read it again since I liked it so much when I was younger. I’ll describe it below and let me know if you know what book I’m talking about. TIA!
So this book is about a woman who is a teacher and her fiance/husband “died” several years ago. The book starts out with her recalling memories of him (I think his name was Joshua). She later reveals that everyone thinks she is responsible for his death and she knows where the body is, especially Joshua’s mother. At one point the woman meets a guy and they hit it off and she’s battling with letting go of Joshua and moving on with this new guy. Joshua’s mom ends up in the hospital after crashing her car into the woman’s yard (if I remember correctly) and she brings her new boyfriend to visit the mom. The mom is convinced she saw Joshua but the woman believes that the mom is mistaking this new boyfriend for Joshua and she begins to see a lot of the similarities between the two men. Later in the book we find out that Joshua has been hanging around the city since he’s heard that his wife may be charged with his “murder”. At this point we learn that Joshua was in med school and began selling prescription pills on the side to pay for school and got too involved with the wrong people and had to escape but he ended up leaving his wife behind even though she was supposed to come with him (she apparently knew about the whole selling drugs thing). Towards the end, Joshua shows up at his wife’s house and takes her with him to his million dollar mansion that he somehow got with all his drug money and she’s somewhat happy that he’s back at first but soon realizes he’s a completely different person and she doesn’t want a life with him anymore. Somehow she either calls the cops or escapes and notifies the police and Joshua is arrested and she ends up with the new boyfriend who at some point is revealed to be Joshua’s long lost brother.
Also I know the story takes place in Nashville.
Anyways this summary is pretty rough (that’s why I need to read it again lol) hope someone knows what I’m talking about!
