Without giving too much context, made a bad decision a few years back and have lost a lot of friends and constantly worry about how old friends see me now. I know I'm wrong and there's not anything I can do to change anyones mind or really make anyone forgive me so trying to find some acceptance and understanding.
I'm curious in find books fiction or non-fiction that explore the ideas of being guilty, embarrassed of your actions, or committing sin finding a way forward.
Not really looking for anything that blindly proposes I forgive myself but maybe something that gives that meaning in a new way.

The book Gilead by Marilynne Robinson deals a lot with the theme of grace and what we owe others even when they make the worst mistakes.
