Title. I wasn’t a huge fan of 1984, but I did like the style. I loved Everything about Unwind by Neal shusterman, but granted it’s been years.
I like the really dark settings, with plenty of emotional scenes (unwholly’s submarine scene), but if there’s romance, I don’t want it to be arguably the biggest plot (divergent from what I’ve seen).
Overall I just want a dystopian-rebellion style book. Sorry if this is really vague, I really don’t have much dystopian novels to compare it too, as the only books/shows I’ve read are hunger games, unwind, 1984 and the first divergent movie

Juno of Taris series by Fleur Beale. It’s been a while since I have read them but I enjoyed it at the time
If you’re okay with sci-fi dystopia, you might like “Red Rising” by Pierce Brown. Rebellion/revolution is the primary plotline.
