I have a handful of favorites but I keep seeing the same thing over again: main character comes from a broken family or a messed up situation in which they never knew their family, headstrong personality, defiant, a little arrogant, etc.
At some point it seems like I'm just reading about different versions of the same person in alternate realities…
Does anyone have some recommendations for books with protagonists that are female, and who don't come from broken situations or who isn't the typical rebellious, hero-like main character?
