Just read The Lifeline by Tom Ellen and loved it.
Favourite slow burn is Cormorant Strike series. Looking for contemporary romance (prefer not historical or fantasy), bonus for forbidden love (NOT due to age gap please, college or older) but co-workers, BFFs ex, social class, professor/student, enemies or friends to lovers that kind of thing. I like a lot of angst/tension to go with.
Think the infamous hand flex in Pride and Prejudice.
I’ve read and enjoyed One Day by David Nicholls and Normal People + Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney.
I know I’m being very picky, I read a lot for work and I’m trying to reignite the spark for reading for pleasure but keep DNF 🙁
