One book I recommend plenty is *Mindset* by Caroline Dweck. It’s a starting point, but aiming towards a growth mindset is a hugely beneficial place to be in my experience.

Fight Club, first I saw the movie then I read the book, after I stopped trying to work to get promoted so I could buy more shit so I could show my “friends” all the new shit I bought. Realized that I just wasn’t the get married and have kids sort of guy, so I didn’t. I stopped trying to be successful the tridishonal way just so my father would be proud of me, and so on. That book literally changed my life
