I love reading fantasy. Dragons, knights, magic, even just different worlds that aren't like our modern one that has a good adventure. It feels like most books that I've seen people talking about have scenes that take me out of the story. I was wondering if anyone knew some good ones that focussed on the story without the need to put a sex scene in there. It's a plus if there are non-binary characters and the lead is non-binary or female. I really liked The Final Strife even though it did technically have a sex scene it stayed focused on the development of the characters and them working together to train. I also read The Jasmine Throne and felt the same way about that. They have feelings, but it isn't explicitly sexual they just have a relationship that goes along with the journey. I prefer queer romance to straight, but I don't need romance either.

If you’re open to very long books, I highly recommend [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard! It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships. I’ve never read a book before this one that gives platonic love the weight the most books only give to romantic love, and it made me feel really seen as an aroace person.

There’s a fairly prominent asexual character in Stormlight and the whole Cosmere in general is light on sex for sure.

Not sure if this quite fits what you’re looking for, but you might want to try Early Riser by Jasper Fforde.

The main character isn’t specifically described as being a certain gender, and has a neutral name. They do experience attraction, and there’s no explicit scenes.

The world is an alternative version of our world where people hibernate through the winter, with a few people staying up to maintain the crucial systems. A viral dream appears to be jumping between sleepers, with fatal consequences for those who dream it.

I really enjoyed the world and the ideas in the book.

Might be worth looking into Finn Longman’s *The Butterfly Assassin* and sequels, which goes all in on this.
