As the title says, I'm looking for literary fiction about the Civil War. But to clarify, I am not really interested in what is usually called "historical fiction." Jeff Shaara is great, and Killer Angels is a phenomenal book, but I am looking for recommendations more along the lines of Daniel Woodrell's Woe to Live On, or some of Barry Hannah's Civil War short stories. Of course the line between historical fiction and literary fiction is not always so clear, but I hope that clarifies a little bit what I am hoping to read – thank you!
