The *All the Wrong Questions* series by Lemony Snicket has exactly this. It’s wonderful fun. If you’re familiar with *A Series of Unfortunate Events*, it’s very similar, but the humour is darker and, quite frankly, it may even be better. There are four main books, plus a collection of short stories that use the same setting. Highly recommended.

    2. Lockwood & Co series is teen paranormal investigators. I haven’t read it myself, but people say it’s great

It’s quite old, but I remember reading **Alfred Hitchcock and The Three Investigators** Series when I started reading books in English. They were fun.

Underdog by Marilyn Sachs is a heartbreaking kids novel about a girl who turns detective to find out what happened to her lost childhood dog.

    5. These aren’t teens who are detectives exactly, but the Robert Muchamore “Cherub” series is undercover teen agents, so they DO solve crimes, etc. The first book is called “The Recruit.”

“CHERUB is a series of teenage spy novels written by English author Robert Muchamore, focusing around a fictional division of the British Security Service called CHERUB, which employs children, predominantly orphans, 17 or younger as intelligence agents.”
