I'm looking for something like "Mr Was" by Pete Hautman. I love novels where the MC goes back in time and falls in love with the girl from a different era and (in case of this book it's 1930-40s). "Dallas 63" by Stephen King was also great but I very much preferred when the author focused on the MCs life in 1963 and I didn't really feel it when he spent time on the Kennedy assassination plot. Both books would be perfect if not for the bitter sweet endings. I'd like something that ends with either the MC staying in the past or taking his loved one back with him.

One of the most well written books I’ve ever read.

Page 2 or 3, you’ll be thinking: dude better do what any normal person would do, otherwise this book is stupid. Don’t worry, he does it.
