I don't know how to explain it, but I've been reading Wikipedia articles on the levels of classification of life forms. I'm fascinated by it but I have no idea which books would teach me more but in a way that is entertaining and not just a super scientific book. Is there anything out there? Sorry if this is extremely vague.

Stephen Jay Gould’s books delve into this. They are collections of essays he wrote for Nature magazine.
