A young family member kept inquiring about my chronic illness in front of other people, such as why I'm not working, and commenting that I "look fine." This makes me strongly suspect that their parent, who has never believed me when I'm sick, has been ranting negatively about me and other chronically ill people to their children and perpetuating the cycle of disbelieving people with invisible illnesses. I don't get to see these kids often enough, and I don't have enough well-being, to be able to consistently course-correct.

Is there an age-appropriate book to help this child to learn and understand the reality of invisible illnesses?

Maybe turtles all the way down? Deals with anxiety specifically ☺️ it’s a little more young adult maybe. But I don’t recall any sort of sexual scenes or anything like that, so might work.
Maybe someone who can remember it a little better can help if it’s age appropriate ☺️
