Mainly about human history and civilisations through time? I’ve read some of A Short History Of Nearly Everything and found it was too universe and space-centric. I want a book that goes through human history, like ancient civilisations and cool things about them etc. how would Sapiens: A brief History of Humankind fare in this regard? Preferably in the style of a biography/biopic, rather than a textbook

I’ve been here recently for the same reasons. I’ve not read it yet but I was recommended:
The Dawn of Everything – David Graeber, David Wengrow.
Sapiens (more general), Guns Germs and Steel (human society focus, but also general)
Both are very popular and I’ve read both and can recommend
“Sapiens” and “Guns, Germs and Steel” both fit what you are looking for
