I'm depressed and the thing that best helps me feel better is others' more depressing lives. I know that's pretty sick and mean, but it's honestly the only thing that makes me stop dwelling on my awful circumstances (and maybe even helps me focus on my life's positives).
So please suggest me a book that's stupidly depressing. Where everything goes unexplainably wrong and there's no redemption ending. Doesn't have to necessarily make you cry. Just that it makes you feel really bad for the main character and makes you say "WOW… that really fucking SUCKS."
