Fantasy book with female protagonist? Or where female characters are well written and have just as much importance and strength as the man. I love character development.
In Fantasy books I don't mind Magic Systems, they're rad, but it can go without. I'd love a sense of adventure (or epicness) as a priority, and violence too. Bonus if it's dark to some extent. I'm not too into Kingdoms and such, in the sense of King and Queen politics. But political themes are strongly welcome, if that makes sense? (Like world hunger, slavery, sexism, etc). I just don't find deep plot/involvement with royal families interesting at the moment. Bonus points for people of color.

P.S they don't need to fit all of my requirements, but the women at least must be either a protagonist or women being well written and not damsels. I prefer not to have romance, and if it is there a bit or in the back is fine. If she isn't a fighter that is fine too. Not a fan of young adult really.
