Ok, well, based upon reputation alone I bought this Michael Crichton book.
First impressions:
It takes place in Hawaii, so there’s the usual liberal use of lengthy unpronounceable Hawaiian words with more apostrophes than letters.
The font size is large, suggesting padding the number of pages.
The chapters are very short. Very. Chapter 15 starts on page 72 and some on the chapters are less then 2 pages.
It feels like a screenplay where scenes (or storyboards ) were marked as chapters.
Will update this post later if things improve.
