I'm visiting Paris for the first time in a couple weeks and I plan on seeing the many collections of impressionist paintings on display at their various museums. I love impressionist art but know next to nothing about art history and don't have the vocabulary or education to appreciate it beyond my natural "this picture's pretty" response
Any art buffs have a favorite book on impressionism, the history of it or even just the painters themselves?
