I recently re-read Loose Balls by Terry Pluto about the rise and fall of the ABA basketball league, which is great, even if you don't like sports because it feels so 1970s, told by announcers, players, and investors. I also read I Want My MTV about the rise and fall of MTV told by the producers, musical acts, etc. Great and fun read!
I want something similar. Wild stories, funny anecdotes, drugs, fights… all that. I love movies, music, entertainment and writing. Books about obscure rocks bands or movie projects that went off the rails would be something I'm looking for – or wild personalities like writers, or some event that was madness. I prefer funny, wild and insightful.
