Spinoff of the post about adults going through magical portals.

I know this is super specific, but I'm looking forward to reading "The Lost Story" by Meg Shaffer when it comes out next month. It's about adults who traveled through magical portals as children (some remember what happened, some don't).

There's another book called How to Be Eaten, which is dark feminist humor about a therapy group made up of adult women who lived through versions of fairy tales like Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel.

The Magicians series is not quite in this genre, but I love it for similar reasons.

Are there other "adults after the magic" type of books? I have a half-memory of another similar book that recently came out but can't for the life of me recall what it was.

Possibly *Indexing* by Seanan McGuire. That’s about the people who deal with what happens when fairy tales try to happen in real life

I’m just finishing Mister Magic (Kiersten White), and it fits this vibe — but with a more horror undertone than the coming Meg Shaffer. I have loved Mister Magic — and can’t wait for Meg Shaffer’s new one! Also loved The Magicians.
