Ever read Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K Le Guin? 🙂
The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson: It imagines what world history would be like if all of Europe died from the Black Plague. Each chapter follows different things like the scientific revolution coming from Uzbekistan, China making first contact with the Native Americans, etc.
