    1. Not really anything that touches those two. For non-espionage but with witty humor and interesting plots with crime look at Christopher Brookmyre, those under that name are quite witty and funny. His later books under Chris Brookmyre are also good thrillers but are serious and without the humor. The first book is Quite Ugly One Morning and also features his long character Jack Parlabane. My two favorite with him are The attack of the Unsinkable rubber ducks and Be My Enemy. He has three books that feature Angelique De Xavia and The Sacred Art of Stealing great fun. He also has a bunch of good standalones One Fine Day in the Middle of Night, All Fun And Games Until Someone Loses an Eye, and A Tale Etched in Blood and Hard Black Pencil are all good choices.

Caimh McDonnell’s Dublin trilogy ( which extends to seven books now are also quite witty crime novels. The first is A Man With One of Those Faces.

For more espionage and occasionally wit, try the Joe Wilderness book by John Lawton starting with Then We Take Berlin.
