Animal Farm by George Orwell has quite a bit of political/social allegory.

Tangentially related “Money, Democracy and the Life of John Maynard Keynes”.
Its obviously biased in favor of *liking* Keynes but its FASCINATING for how in depth it covers where he came from, about the papers he wrote that became important in economics theory, why they were criticized, how Milton Friedman came about and how he started the Chicago school.. it was the first time I felt like I could follow the timeline in history and got the gist of what the different schools of thought were.
(Its also about his shitty art friends, but other than, SUPER interesting and easy to understamd)
