I once read part of a book, I barely remmember it but I hot an urge to revisit it. I don't remmember much, but I'll write what I remmember. I've been looking for it all day…
1: the book is not a big well known classic, I think.
2: It's most likely published between 1960 – 1990s
3: It's a SciFi novel with planets, space travel, aliens
4: Main protagonist is a young male, maybe 20ish years old
5: A large portion of the book, 1/4th maybe takes place in some kind of underground cave prison planet
6: the protagonist escapes the cave prison and joins up with a female space soldier, mercenary or captain I think
7: the protagonist has memories or visions of his home planet and his mother, who I think has some kind of love relationship with him and sets his whole story / adventure in motion.
8: I also think he has a bad relationship with his mother, that she is kinda a villain, but I don't remmember.
Finding this book has become an obsession at this point, I remmember seeing it as an audiobook as well.
